Wilkie S. Colyer, Jr - CEO
Mr. Colyer was employed by Goff Capital, the family office of John C. Goff, from 2007 until August 2018. Most recently, he served as Principal for Goff Capital, Inc. and Senior Vice President, Investments of Goff Focused Strategies LLC, an exempt reporting advisor with the SEC and the State of Texas. Mr. Colyer has been responsible for the firms’ energy investing and has held a material role in public and private investments in sectors including financial services and real estate, among others. Mr. Colyer currently serves on the Board of Directors of one other publicly held oil and gas producer in which Mr. Goff holds a significant interest, Mid-Con Energy Partners, LP and formerly served on the Board of Directors of Resolute Energy Corporation. Mr. Colyer received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Colyer holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Dallas-Fort Worth. As our President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Colyer gives our Board insight and in-depth knowledge of our industry and our specific operations and strategies.
Farley Dakan - President
Mr. Dakan joined Contango in October 2019. He will be responsible for the integration of the Company’s recent acquisitions, as well as the identification, evaluation, financing and integration of future acquisitions as part of the Company’s consolidation strategy. Mr. Dakan has extensive experience in management, advisory and board roles with both private and public companies in a number of different industries. Immediately prior to joining Contango, Mr. Dakan was founder, owner and CEO of Will Energy Corporation, which recently entered into a Contribution and Purchase Agreement for the sale of its oil and gas asset portfolio to Contango. Prior to founding Will Energy Corporation, Mr. Dakan’s advisory and management roles were in support of clients such as Wells Fargo, Fortress Investment Group, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse and numerous other investment firms and corporations. Mr. Dakan began his career with a predecessor firm of Ernst & Young and graduated with a degree in finance from Baylor University.
E. Joseph Grady - Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Grady joined the Company in March 2005 and has more than 25 years of financial, operational and administrative experience. His previous positions included serving as Senior Vice President – Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Texas Petrochemicals Holdings, Inc., Vice President – Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Forcenergy Inc. and Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Pelto Oil Company. Mr. Grady is also a managing director of Vision Fund Advisors, Inc., a financial advisory firm he co-founded in 2001 that provides financial advisory and capital raising services to development-stage companies. Mr. Grady started his career with Touche Ross & Co., predecessor to Deloitte & Touche LLP. Mr. Grady received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Louisiana State University and is a certified public accountant.
Chad Roller - Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Roller, PhD, most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the general partner for Mid-Con Energy Partners, LP. Previously, he served as Vice President of Development and Petroleum Engineer at Mid-Con Energy Operating. Additional experience includes multiple roles at Royal Dutch Shell including Advisor to the Chief Petroleum Engineer, Business Planner, Deepwater Exploration Support, and Petroleum Engineer. Chad Roller received his PhD from Rice University and Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Oklahoma.
Chad McLawhorn - Senior Vice President - General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Mr. McLawhorn served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the general partner of Mid-Con Energy Partners, LP, a publicly held upstream master limited partnership, from March 2016 to June 2020. From August 2009 to March 2016, he held a series of positions of increasing responsibility at Samson Resources Corporation, a privately held oil and gas company, including Assistant General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Earlier in his career, Mr. McLawhorn was in private practice with McAfee & Taft. Mr. McLawhorn received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma and his Juris Doctor also from the University of Oklahoma.
Michael J. Autin - Vice President of Operations
Mr. Autin joined Contango in May 2012 as Vice President of Production. Mr. Autin has over 33 years of experience in the petroleum industry including the Gulf of Mexico and U.S onshore shale. He has held various positions including Production Manager, HSE Manager and Offshore Installation Manager. Prior to joining Contango, Mr. Autin was employed by BHP Billiton since October 2000, where most recently he was Gulf of Mexico Operations Manager, Field Manager and Operations Advisor. Mr. Autin attended Nicholls State University where he studied petroleum, safety and business. He received a BS degree in 1986.
